The taste and flavor are not any better than the 30-second boba though, so you should only buy this one if you can’t find the 30-second one!

5-Minute Instant Boba

5-minute instant boba involves boiling water on the stove, which means more cooking materials to wash afterward. This also means you’ll have to keep an eye on your boba while it’s cooking. But, the great thing about 5-minute instant boba is that you’ll have more control over how long to cook the boba. So you’ll always achieve your desired chewiness! Unless you find a great deal on the 5-minute instant boba, we still recommend going for the 30-second boba option!

While the packaging might say 30-minute boba, make sure you read the instructions carefully. Otherwise, you may be in the kitchen longer than you’d like! 30-minute instant boba is definitely the least convenient option, though you'll have much more control over chewiness and flavor.
The biggest benefit of buying this type of boba is the price. It generally comes in larger quantities and costs 30-40% less than the other options in our guide. That being said, there is a big drawback with having to wait an hour to cook it. At the end of the day, it’s not as ‘instant’ as we’d like it to be 😔
